I have just been going a mile a minute for the whole week. My job was just hoppin' and I wore my hand-chained rosary (<--- link) to work and to Mass, and got five rosary orders and sold my rosary right out of my hands! So it's been busy and I have not been around to see anyone's blog! Boo!
Running errands for work yesterday, I had to go downtown to the Post Office there, and I saw such a pretty little shop that I pulled over and got a few snaps really quickly! It was SO bright, and SO hot. It was just like wading in hot gasses, which I guess it actually is! There were currents of hot and less-hot air, and from the dark courtyard next to the really pretty shop, there was a thin snake of air that was almost cool!
Hope everyone's week went well and I can't wait to get my chores done and hop back online to go see what everyone has been posting!
Kind regards,
Olde Dame Holly
I LOVE THAT PEACOCK and want someone to paint one on my door. I wondered where you were.. here we are living in humidty that is like wearing a cloak of water, so hot it is difficult to breathe. I walk the dog at 6:15 when it is still not quite daylight. and then come home and fall in the pool to get cool enough to eat breakfast.
ReplyDelete"Pretty" is pretty much an understatement methinks LOL.... It's gorgeous!! There is something so unique about southwestern architecture. Both doors are beautiful...they just beckon one to go inside to see what is on the other side.... I am partial to that wonderful peacock door though!! Hope you find some time to slow down and BREATHE! ~Robin~
ReplyDeleteOh I like those doors and the way they're decorated. I want to visit that shop. I imagine the inside would be as adorable as the outside.
ReplyDeleteThe rosaries you make are so lovely; I'm not surprised others put in orders for their own. Is it extra busy at school because the school year is almost over?
Oh my how pretty are those doors. I would have had to go in that shop! So is school year around ther?
ReplyDeleteCathy
I love that peacock on the door. Would love to visit a shop that decorated their outsides. So inviting. How cool you sold your rosaries Janice
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the rosary sales. Making more will keep you busy...as if you are not busy enough.
ReplyDeleteWhen does summer vacation start for you?
Both doors are lovely, and equally difficult to achieve, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteSome people are so creative...decorating doors and making rosaries! Congrats to you!
ReplyDeleteThose doors are so beautiful. I think you need a combination of hot and adobe walls for it to look right though. That said, we have a painted dragon on a wall down n Builth (a Welsh one of course!)
ReplyDeletebright and colorful, you can feel the heat through the pictures. Not my cuppa. Very pretty door.
ReplyDeleteThe adorned doors are so inviting. I would have to visit.
ReplyDeleteYour downtown looks so charming. I love that peacock door, so pretty. I just bought a peacock cup with a very special saying on it. It looks like they really decorated the downtown area up and made it look nice. We have a long strip which is main street in this mountain town, and there are a only a few charming shops, the antique shop, the coffee shop, and the dollar store. The rest are hardware and stores for essentials. That is wonderful that you have five orders to make your beautiful Rosaries. I will check your hand chained Rosary out right now. It's a scorcher this weekend, so I hope you stay cool where you live, Holly.

Oh Yes, I remember your hand chained Rosary. It's beautiful and very special. The colors you chose go well together. : )
DeleteI actually LOVE the sunflowers and was wondering if those were oranges around the outside of the door. The peacock is lovely, too.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you have JUST been busy and not sick. So good you sold five rosaries, too.
It's hot here, too. We set records for hottest day of the year a couple of times already this month and it isn't even in the hottest part of the year, yet.
Pretty!! I can see why you'd want to do that door effect!! So pretty...a dazzling exterior!!
ReplyDeleteTake some time for yourself when you can!
Awww, I missed the critter post you published over a week ago...such sweet, sweet fur babies. Each and every one!!!
DeleteThose door toppings are beautiful. I love the peacock especially. what a lovely idea!!
ReplyDeleteAren’t those door decorated beautifully?? That sure adds happiness and cheer, doesn’t it??
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon from the western edge of Missouri. From the photographs here, I'm thinking you live somewhere in the southwestern part of the United States--a part much influenced by the creativity and beauty of Spanish art. Thanks for sharing such loveliness. Have a good day. Peace.
ReplyDeleteI like the old time radio shows, Radio 360 I think that is the name it is syndicated. If you would like to watch a relaxing You Tube, please visit with Colette at Bealtaine Cottage..here is the link https://www.youtube.com/user/BealtaineCottage

Hi, I love the downtown shop. I visited Tuscon, Arizona when I was in 4th grade. I remember similar beauty.
