Quick Like A Bunny: Hello SpRiNg

How quickly it is happening, earlier than last year despite the harsh winter storms most of the country experienced!

Already the iris at the Gadsden Museum in "Old Mesilla" are blooming!

Just a "quick like a bunny" hello. Oh, full time work is tough on this old bird. Dear, dear. The co-workers (61 of them) are lovely, but the work itself, oh it is awful. The nature of it is awful. They cannot keep anyone in this position, and I can see why. I will just say I have to deal with human misery every moment of the workday. And see terrible, terrible photos of injuries, hear the cries of mothers and grandmothers daily, over Zoom and speakerphones, of all things. Not a single duty is as described. Maybe if they told the nature of the job, no one would take it.

But, onward. I had a college roommate who would say, "Onward and upward!" She thought it hilarious, I took it at face value. Onward in life, and upward towards Heaven, hopefully!

Hope to stop by the blogs tonight. I have been coming home, skipping dinner, cleaning up, trying to play with the animals for a few minutes, and then to bed. I am exhausted by 8 p.m.! These old bones.

Kind regards,

Holly, The Merry Olde Dame

  1. Oh you had a bad day! I hope it will get better soon for you.
You already have Iris, you must have sun and heat already.
Hope you will not be too tired with your job.

    1. The sun and heat have arrived! Just springlike, now. Chilly mornings, hot by afternoon. WINDY. But the plants are loving it all!

  2. If this job, is not really necessary, for your solvency, is it worth it?

I do hope you will sit yourself down, and really listen to what your body tells you. Your body will know, if you should continue in this very, very stressful job.

    Best wishes....

    With listening...

    To your body.........

    1. I love irises so much. I think they are unsung heroes of the spring beds, and their vertical leaves add a lot all summer. Plus, basically carefree except for having to thin them!

  4. Remember to take care of yourself. I know about people needing to work. At the same time I wonder if your new job is worth what it is doing to you. Please take care.

  5. How depressing your new job sounds. I hope things get better because that could really wear a person down.

    1. It is depressing, but I know it is necessary, but maybe not for me! It will get better and God is working for me behind the scenes, I have no doubt.

  6. Ahhh, the law at its ugliest self. While in law school, I worked at a personal injury and criminal firm and did all the settlement demand portfolios...reading police reports, autopsies, and witness statements ad nauseam and seeing accident scene photos I can never unsee. Then I did corporate law and choked on politics and immorality. After that, it was the dept of social services...and child support...a wretched combination of the worst of the prior two. Sigh. I can only imagine your situation. Wishing you strength to do what it is you need to do...for you. Beautiful blooms...we woke to a light coating of snow....but I did spy a Robin!! ~Robin~

    1. Thank you for that perspective, Robin. I feel so bad for the attorneys. Everyone is lovely, and the work they do is so important. But what a burden on their hearts. You saw it from so many angles! Too bad academia wasn't a nice haven from yuckiness - the pettiness must have driven you crazy! No wonder you say you are a little "cranky" !
